About People Over Platforms Worldwide
People Over Platforms Worldwide is a global nonprofit movement fighting for digital justice, transparency, and accountability in an increasingly automated online world. We stand for the people behind the profiles — the real humans impacted by unfair bans, algorithmic errors, silencing, and broken support systems across major tech platforms.

Our Story Began
Our story began after thousands of users — business owners, creators, parents, advocates, and everyday people — had their accounts wrongfully removed or permanently disabled by Meta (Facebook & Instagram).
What looked like “just an account” to outsiders was, for many, a lifeline: a source of income, cherished memories, vital communities, and connections.
What started as a petition grew into a global movement with tens of thousands of signatures and coverage from outlets like BBC News, CBC News, Sky News and many more.

What We Stand For
We believe no platform should hold unchecked power over people’s identities, businesses, or memories — especially not through flawed AI systems or impossible appeal processes.
That’s why we fight for:

Transparency in appeals and decisions

Accountability in moderation and AI systems

Human Rights in digital spaces — expression, access to memories, and fair treatment
Vision
This movement is about more than one company. It’s about reclaiming fairness, visibility, and dignity in the digital age.
Whether you’ve been impacted directly or simply believe in the right to digital freedom — you are not alone.
Your voice matters here.
Together, we are holding platforms accountable and building a safer, fairer digital future.
