50,000 Reasons We Will Not Stop

A global milestone powered by real stories, real harm, and a movement demanding fairness in the digital age.

A young woman sits in low light, focused on her phone with a worried expression. A red People Over Platforms banner beside her reads “50,000 Reasons, We Will Not Stop,” representing the movement for digital rights and fairness.
Behind every number is a real person, a real story, and real harm. 50,000 voices are demanding change. We’re not stopping now.

Our community has now surpassed 50,000 supporters, and every single one of those people represents a reason to keep going. This movement grew from thousands of shared experiences of sudden account loss, failed appeals, automated systems, and silence where support should have existed.

People everywhere are demanding answers. They are demanding fairness. They are demanding human oversight.

And they are refusing to accept platforms that remove their digital lives without explanation.

50 000 Reasons to Keep Moving Forward

This milestone represents 50,000 lived experiences, and it shows how deeply these issues affect people around the world. Small businesses have lost income. Parents have lost memories. Artists have lost portfolios. Vulnerable people have lost support networks they depended on.

When we say 50,000 Reasons, we are acknowledging the voices of people who were left with no answers, no support, and no meaningful appeals.

“I did nothing wrong, and I had nowhere to turn.”

This is the sentence we hear again and again.

This milestone is proof that people are ready for change, and that this movement is needed more than ever.

A Turning Point in a Rapidly Changing Digital Landscape

Across the world, major developments are unfolding that show how widespread this problem has become. These stories reflect why this movement has grown so quickly, and why so many people are speaking out.

CBS Philadelphia Small Business Case

A recent report from CBS News Philadelphia uncovered how a Pennsylvania gym owner was suddenly locked out of her Facebook and Instagram accounts, and she told reporters the suspension had an immediate impact on her income because she relies heavily on social media to reach her clients.

Many others interviewed described the same pattern, automated moderation filters, limited appeal options, and no access to any real human support, revealing how deeply AI-driven enforcement can harm people’s livelihoods.

Spain Launches Privacy Investigation

Spain’s national privacy authority opened a formal investigation into Meta after allegations of covert data tracking involving Android users. Regulators are examining whether these practices align with GDPR, one of the world’s strongest privacy laws.

Australia Begins Teen Account Deactivations

In Australia, teens have begun receiving notifications that their accounts will soon be deactivated under new national safety laws. Many families say the communication is unclear, timelines are abrupt, and young users have limited appeal options.

Internal Leadership Shifts at Meta

Meta is undergoing major organizational restructuring while pushing rapidly into artificial intelligence. Analysts warn that heavy investment in AI could reduce resources for human moderation, appeals, and direct user support.

Community Concerns in Wisconsin

Residents in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin raised concerns about the environmental impact of a new Meta AI data center, especially its strain on local water resources. Many said they were not informed about how the project could affect their community.

Financial Pressure on AI Infrastructure

Analysts report that Meta’s rising AI and cloud infrastructure costs may reduce funding for appeals, support teams, and human moderation. As more resources shift toward automation, fewer remain for the people who desperately need help.

Meta continues to random ban fb accounts here in the philippines and their kids are affected being disabled for no reason.

Please help us here in the Philippines, please help us submit this to NPC. this has to stop. once and for all! Filipino users here getting disabled and most are depressed!, please we really need your help.

Meta support just taunted me again with the Menlo Park address after refusing to restore my July account. they taunted me with the California legal address after I said I’d take them to court Same thing they do to thousands of us. They know we can’t sue from the Philippines, so they throw the address like a middle finger. This is deliberate…

Meta violates DSA law in Europe. I hope they get fined 6% of global revenue. They still ignore all European users and their wrongfully banned accounts.

Thank you, Mikaela. The DSA was created to prevent exactly these kinds of harms, and many European users are still experiencing a complete lack of support. This is why our movement is growing, and why we’re pushing for stronger enforcement and oversight.
