"My Instagram account has been suspended by Meta on 12/23 with a wrongful accusation of posting child sexual abuse material. I received an email notification of the suspension with no information on the content in question. I'm a passive dormant user of the Instagram and Facebook platforms and haven't posted anything in years - upto the date of suspension. This is a false accusation by Meta, leading to defamation of character due to the gravity of the allegation. My facebook account that's linked to Instagram is also suspended. I've tried to submit the appeal on the Instagram platform using the video-selfie process, however I'm not sure if the submission went through as the platform errored out on the submission of the video-selfie. I'm unable to log in to Instagram and Facebook to pursue any further steps recommended in the Help articles - hence I'm at a dead-end with no information or support from Meta to get this resolved. Meta needs to be held accountable for these alleged false accusations. I appreciate if anyone could provide some insights into how you went about handling this issue, so it can help others in the community who are going through this turmoil."

"Hello I was an Instagram users since 2018. I have so many memories in my account. Both Facebook and Instagram. Recent around September my ig account was disabled. I thankfully got it back with 5 days. But not even a month later. Dec 11, I was wrongly disabled again for violation something not true. Since then I have not been able to long into my Facebook because they are both linked. Until a couple days ago I decided to make another Ig account to see if I can recover my old account thru meta verified. I decided to pay the 14.99 + tax price. No later than 3 hours later , my new ig account had been banned. Since then I have been trying to get a refund on my money because it is absolutely unexpected."

"My account I had since 2009 until June 2025 was disabled for several different things from separate emails. All of it was things I’ve never done. I did not have a business and I never ran ads. I would not know how to. Another email mentioned cyber security. I’ve no clue what any of it came from. I’m a grand mom to twins, my entire life was documented in that Facebook account and I’d never broken rules. I lost all pictures thru cancer and premature babies born. I downloaded like they offered to do but I got gibberish and no way to access. I lost so much."

"There should be an actual human verifying the content to which meta has deemed an account inappropriate or not following the rules. My accounts were disabled and I assume permanently closed after I tried to appeal (I still don’t have access and I appealed over a week ago) for child exploitation, abuse or nudity. NONE of these things were posted on my pages. If posting a picture of my child at a gymnastics competition is child exploitation then you better have shut down the photography pages that post and promote their business for sport photography all day long. I totally understand having standards to keep terrible content off social media but there should be someone VERIFYING that the content is accurate as accused. This is complete crap that there is a one time appeal and no where to go after that. People’s businesses are affected, people have lost memories with family and friends who may not even be with us anymore. Do better."

"I was all the sudden blocked from using my Facebook and the message stated that I violated community standards on another Meta platform(which had to be Instagram, as I have no other accounts) which I never even used, I started it when it became "hot" so I didn't lose the chance at having what I wanted as a handle(which I can't even remember now lol) and I tried to appeal it and was instantly denied even after sending a facial scan to prove I was a real person. Still no explanation and no one to call and ask. I lost years and years of posts and pictures of friends and family that I can't get back now. I hope somehow we can get our accounts back, and finally have justice served, as it was very one sided."

"Several friends of mine lost their accounts. What's going on is ridiculous. FB needs to be held accountable for all of this. Our senators need to overhaul section 230 and make social media giants accountable. It's unfair what's going on. I almost lost my own account. I have written to FB several times and reported things to the state AG with some success. These people just don't listen. They are allowing AI to run this platform, not real people. This needs to be fixed so people don’t lose contact with with their friends and family that they don’t live close to. This also helps people stay updated on others that they care about. "Facebook AI suspended our church's Facebook page that we've had for over 10 years. We've spoken to agent after agent who have confirmed we've done nothing wrong but that they do not have the power to restore our page. The button to even be able to disagree with the decision and make an appeal doesn't even work, it goes to an error page. We are now unable to: -livestream our church services which our elderly and homebound community relies on for their religious practice and community -invite our community and run ads inviting them to our annual Christmas musical. -share with our community winter weather and holiday related changes in church service schedules. -celebrate with our community and town, and share resources for benevolent needs including: homelessness, winter shelters, free community meals, Christmas toy donations, etc. This has become a nightmare for our church family and community."

"I’m a music producer and my music account was banned on June 29 2025 and I’ve had this account since 2019. RANDOMLY I was suspended for the most absurd reason ever “child sexual exploitation” and I sent an appeal which was never even reviewed so therefore my account was permanently disabled. Every time I make a new account I now get banned for “account integrity” this is absurd, falsely accusing me of “child sexual exploitation” AND infringing on my business, my livelihood, all for some stupid broken AI that doesn’t work, doesn’t look at appeals, AND falsely bans people. We are a farm with no children or anything even close to what this would entail! We appealed and the AI says it is denied! "I've had the same Instagram for about 12 years now, I was suspended months ago for something I didn't do. I appealed straight away & was told "it usually takes us just over a day to review your account", that was 29th October, & still haven't gotten any response. I have so many childhood friends on my Instagram, memories from friends & loved ones that have since passed, & none of it is recoverable. You can download your "information" but it doesn't download anything worthwhile that you'd actually want to keep (photos, messages etc.). & because my facebook is linked to my Instagram, my facebook has also been suspended even though what that accused me of doing "happened" on my Instagram & not my facebook. There is no way whatsoever to get in contact with anyone to help out, & I'm just slowly watching the countdown until my accounts get deleted, while not being able to do a single thing about it. Not only are accounts being lost, the accusations in which they're accusing people of is absolutely disgusting."

"n 2025 alone, I was banned four separate times, including on December 1st, when my account was disabled and later reviewed. On December 3rd, my account was restored and I was clearly told that I had done nothing wrong. Despite this, I was banned again on January 1st for the exact same reason, without any warning, explanation, or new information. These repeated bans have resulted in the loss of every single one of my photography accounts, all of which I built through years of dedication, creativity, and consistency. Every time I begin to grow again and finally gain momentum, reaching thousands of profile views and new engagement, my account is suddenly taken down. This cycle has left me confused, discouraged, and unsure of how to continue growing when my work is repeatedly erased without cause. The most painful loss was my main account in 2024, which I had maintained since 2017. That account held years of memories, creative projects, and nearly all of my personal connections, from middle school friends to college contacts, all of which were lost permanently. What makes this situation even more difficult is the inconsistency of enforcement, being told I did nothing wrong and then being punished again anyway. These actions have caused serious emotional distress, disrupted my ability to create and share my work, and erased years of personal and professional history. I am not asking for special treatment, only fairness, transparency, and accountability so that creators are not repeatedly harmed by unexplained enforcement errors."

"My account was hacked and when I received an email to change the password my account was disabled. The loop of trying to get in touch with a real person is ridiculous and frustrating to say the least. 10 plus years of family and business pictures that I own as the creator gone with no access. Follow the absurd directions to download your information and you get your user name, birthdate and date you joined?! I want my pictures and access back! This has hurt my business as well. A lot of my customers look to Facebook for information and when you can't communicate with them, you lose business."

"Instagram suspended and then disabled my parent managed account I had for my 6 year since 2020. After uploading a valid ID all my accounts were disabled including my both my personal and business pages on Facebook and Instagram. Its impossible to talk to anyone unless you are able to use someone else's account or pay for meta verified and even this isnt guaranteed because the 1st appeal is their "technology". A company should not have this much power with accountability to the people who use and support them daily. Having no way for consumers to talk to someone to fix this issue shows they are a billion dollar corporation that does not care about consumers. I have had my Facebook account since 2005, thats 20 years of memories and connections just taken in a blink of eye with no warning nothing!"

"My Facebook account that I've had since May 22, 2007 was hacked on Dec. 5, 2025 then permanently disabled on Dec. 8, 2025 - completely unbeknownst to me. The hacker first gained access to my email account that I had linked to Facebook, changed my mail forwarding setting and display name. I stopped using that email acct years ago but had it set to forward any email to my current email address. Since the hacker changed that setting, I had NO idea my account was suspended due to violating the Community Standards regarding CSE. The hacker used the one & only appeal which resulted in my account being permanently disabled. Facebook/Meta CRIMINALIZES the innocent users while GLORIFYING the hackers by giving them exactly what they want! There needs to be an access point for us to prove our innocence! I WANT MY PICTURES, VIDEOS, POSTS, CHATS, ETC... RETURNED!! THOSE ARE MINE - NOT FACEBOOK'S!!"

I was told I could open a new account successfully yesterday, so I did, attaching my business page to my account. "Meta doubles down on their faulty AI moderation & no entity is able to hold them accountable? Livelihood, income, community, info resources - things that people have spent a decade + to build gone in the blink of an eye with zero human support. It is unacceptable. My theatre (creative work) account was wrongly flagged; reinstated via "we got this wrong" message; then banned AGAIN without warning bc the AI has it falsely flagged. My emails were different across accounts yet Meta still linked them and cascade banned ALL THREE of my accounts (FB & IG). The appeals process is a joke. "FB wrongfully disabled my account on 1/3/26 after a hacker got into my account through Business Suite/Meta verified. FB's AI accused me of posting explicit pictures. I have sent proof of my location vs the hackers location and receipts showing I was actually where I said I was. I hope that is enough proof to be reinstated. I've had this account since at least 2008. The memories I've shared and created for my daughter to keep are gone. Access to my moms account is gone, I was her legacy contact. There should be a live person to talk to when this happens. We should be protected."

"Hi, and good day, Meta removed my posts over a dozen times over Christian, movies, and music suggestions I made. I kept adding people or organizations to follow at 100, 500, 1,000, and I kept getting minor postings in my feed everyday. So, I wanted good deeds, so everyone is trying to make money and get likes ❤️and I get blamed for something I was not doing like these other people I have listened to. This crap of being blamed for sexualizing while on a public site where everyone needs likes to make money is a joke. I was hoping my good deeds of giving like would lead to getting the same thing. I was hoping to land a job in the entertainment business reviewing music and movies. I was up to almost 5,000 that I followed, but my feed kept giving me minor postings which was pissing me off. I gave likes to everyone, cancer patients, moms, animals starving in need donations, sports, politics etc…. 98% of my feed was still minor crap when I was following nearly 5,000 nothing changed whether I l❤️ liked a post or not. I kept getting minor stuff, what the hell and they never listen to anything I say. Now I get blamed and no one to complain to, there system is Totalitarian behavior and very much gas lighting of us as consumers that we have no recourse to defend ourselves against the super rich META-Black Rock 🪨 on the board and Artificial Intelligence. What was done to me is so infuriating. I prayed for the Lord God almighty to give justice to me, and for my brothers and sisters. Please 🙏 Help! I lost everything on Instagram and Facebook like my brothers and sisters. I went through the appeal process when AI decided that I would no longer gain access to accounts resulting in losing baby photos of my son, lost loved ones memories and chats, community and connection. Accountability and action needs to be taken."

Well I instantly got an email saying my account was now permanently banned, now the same on my facebook. "On 12/28/25 I received a notice on Facebook that my account was suspended for "violating community standards." I was given a link to a page about child sex trafficking. This suspension also prevents me from using my Quest 3. Spoiler Alert: I'm not a child sex trafficker. I've been a user with no prior issues since 2007. The only possible reason for this I can think of is that I posted a family Christmas picture with my little one-year-old niece on my lap and the automated system flagged it as "possible child molestation, requires further investigation." I clicked the "Appeal" button, but word on the street is that this "review process" could take weeks or even months and I'm absolutely not okay with being blocked from using my $500 Quest 3 for that time. It's already been over a week. Facebook/Meta has no phone support. I've already sent them an email and so far no response."

"Meta is complete bullshit. I lost my account with a lot of memories. I have dead friends and relatives on my story archives. I got my account deleted for child exploitation. Thats a CRAZY accusation. As a cannabis breeder / influencer in the legal industry who had on average 1.5-2.2+ million views monthly just for my botanical content.. This false ban greatly hurt my business, and brand by not having direct access to my professional social network. I lost contacts that I've been developing for years through international networking, and various social events. Rebuilding is going to be an incredibly difficult journey, especially post-covid. "I have had a Facebook and Instagram account for over 15 years. Was just removed from both platforms, being falsely accused a VILE act which I absolutely did not do. From my research this is happening in masses due to a Meta glitch. With no customer service center to speak to we are at the mercy of a bot to reinstate our accounts. This is a serious problem and needs to be rectified. Many people are losing so many photos videos and memories which is so devastating. Facebook and Instagram need to be held to a higher standard and need better communication options for their users."

"I was wrongfully suspended from Instagram for “child sexual exploitation, abuse and nudity.” It’s the most outlandish claim about me I have ever heard. Then I found out it’s happening to other people as well. Appeals don’t work and now they permanently disabled my Facebook account that was linked to it that I had for over 15 years. I have pictures and memories on there that I’ll never get back now because of this. I’m furious, to say the least. I hadn’t even posted anything on either of them in years. I just liked looking back at the pictures and videos I had from back then. I’m half tempted to sue if possible. I can’t even make new accounts because they keep banning them. And of course there is no one can talk to about it. I can only email the AI system that screwed it up in the first place. I go on FB Marketplace and watch IG reels….thats about it. Something needs to happen quickly."
