"I am a legacy user of Instagram. I have been on the app for probably over 14 years in great standing and following all the Community Guidelines properly, like so many others who are also facing this issue. Unfortunately since the Facebook/Meta acquisition and Meta’s implementation of AI moderation, there has been an issue with their AI detection system unfairly banning accounts. My account, catalo_rosa, and all connected Facebook and other accounts (connected via Account Center) have been disabled/banned unfairly. Even worse, on my new account, I paid for Meta Verified so I can gain access to receive support regarding the account, and I have been waiting for months, followed-up on the issue after waiting months, and every agent gives me a different reply/answer and answers are inconsistent. Some agents say that the case is still open, some agents say it’s closed, and some say there is not an existing case at all. The accusations also continue from Meta and their support agents as well. They are removing not only me, but others and making criminal accusations against human beings. I am still here standing with a completely clean criminal record, on the other hand being reminded by clueless support agents that the account was removed for not following Community Guidelines and Standards and that I need to read the community guidelines properly. I have never been in violation of any community guideline. In addition to that, they labeled me and my account as a “Dangerous Individual and Organization”, which just doesn’t make sense. If this will not be handled I will be handling it via legal proceedings due to the criminal accusations that are being made against me and my character. Thank you. I hope that Meta’s development team can restore all negatively impacted accounts. Thank you."

"Having been on Facebook since it's inception. I was randomly banned 2 weeks ago and the appeal was automatically reviewed by the same broken AI process that resulted in the ban. Not further details, no access to support, no ability to recover data, no procedural fairness. Years of family and friends memories now gone and no real understanding of why. Then the fact that the ban pushes across all other Meta services then has wide ranging affects as businesses and community groups turn to Messenger and WhatsApp their primary communication tool. These erroneous bans are affecting waves of users and isolating many people's main source of communication and information."

"About 7 months ago I had my account suspended with no explanation what so ever. I made an appeal and got no response for 5 months! Each time I checked it just gave me the same answer iver and over that i appealed on this date etc. I don't think they even looked at my appeal! Today I finally found out the information that the account was permanently disabled (which i wasn't even notified about so who knows how long its been disabled since i checked last) and the reasoning was completely insane. I was banned for apparently violating child sexual exploitation guidelines, an accusations they gave absolutely zero proof for, not that they could anyway BECAUSE ALL I DID FOR THE SEVERAL YEARS ON THAT ACCOUNT WAS POST MYSELF OR PICTURES OF NATURE, AND SEND MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS ANIMAL VIDEOS, LIKE? I have tried to make a new account THREE TIMES now but the first two were almost instantly suspended as well. F you meta."

"I have been selling on Facebook and been banned or suspended for NO reason given. I asked them in the appeal, if they can't give me the EXACT reason, why I am being suspended to put back my account. They will put back my account and in less then one day, it's suspend again, despite the fact that I have a perfect stars review, at 5 stars from buyers and customers! The appeal process was automated and did not provide a way to submit context; the decision was affirmed within minutes and I was told no further review was available. The disablement abruptly cut off customer communications, eliminated incoming leads, disrupted scheduled work, and threatened deletion of years of content and business records, causing significant financial and reputational damage."

"Hello my name is Victor (Vdrt777) was my handle I have never participated or shared or looked up anything explicit on Instagram or any social media I have ever owned and I got banned for child sexual exploitation and I appealed of course and within 2 min it was denied, there’s no way I have no idea what happened I just scroll reels on here, I have 3 photos one of me sitting with my dog, another of me standing next to my cousin who’s also an adult male, and another of me infront of a mirror taking a selfie fully clothed. I am so disappointed with this mainly because my Facebook was linked and it is now gone and I use that to talk to my family and friends from long ago, I cannot make a new account I must be IP banned but there is nowhere to go for further assistance this is wrong.."

"I’ve had a Facebook account for 20 years and was recently becoming a small influencer. I had thousands of followers and friends. Hundreds of posts and comments and dozens of groups. Saved messages from special people. One morning I woke up and my account (Facebook and Instagram) had been hacked, “reviewed”, and permanently disabled with no option to review or talk to someone directly. No support whatsoever. Now I’ve tried creating new accounts and they keep getting marked as fraud and disabled or restricted. I want my account back. This needs to change. "I just had my Facebook account suspended by Meta. I have done nothing whatsoever wrong. I am also disabled (Autism) and Facebook is my main social connector. In effect I have now lost many friends and contacts built up over a decade and contact with overseas blood relatives. I pressed the appeals button and rather than this launching a double check (which would surely find me innocent) they seem to be farming for my personal data - I jump through a few of the hoops and then things got so invasive I thought, if this company has a leak then this is an avenue for serious identity theft - plus, with what is going on in the US at present, I don't really want to supply that nation with my UK documents and/or cards due to being uncertain what hands it might end up in. I got as far as them asking for marriage certificates and the such like. As a disabled, non-driving and non-travelling person, I do not have much in the way of the ID proofs Meta insisted upon. I was thinking of offering my disabled person's bus card, but that alone would not be enough. I know META is a private firm and I accepted that when signing up way back in 2009 - the only account I kept and used. It is their right to throw me off their site. It would be nice to be able to talk/text to a human being and protest my complete innocence. Interestingly, last night I got the message from Facebook about paying not to have adverts. I selected that I would not pay and carry on with Facebook as before. Now, some hours later, my account is suspended."

"I am writing regarding the sudden disabling of my Instagram account @Dancer2873, which also resulted in the automatic disabling of my connected Facebook and Meta VR accounts. I was informed that my Instagram account was banned for alleged Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) content. This accusation is both deeply shocking and entirely unfounded. I have never violated Meta’s Community Standards, let alone engaged in anything remotely related to CSE. What is even more concerning is that my appeal was denied within approximately five minutes of submission. This is not nearly enough time to properly review a 14+ year-old account with extensive history, content, and context. It gives the impression that my appeal may not have been genuinely reviewed. This situation is extremely distressing. Because my account was disabled, I have lost access to years of personal photos and memories, including irreplaceable photos of my late father and my family. These memories hold enormous emotional value, and losing them has been devastating. I respectfully requested the following from Meta: A full, manual re-review of my account (@Dancer2873) by a qualified human reviewer. A clear explanation of what content triggered the CSE accusation. Restoration of my Instagram, Facebook, and Meta VR accounts if the review confirms that no violation occurred—as I am confident it will. I have always followed the Community Standards, and I was simply asking for a fair review and a chance to regain access to my own memories and accounts. I have not heard back from Meta and I also filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, they accepted my complaint and reached out to meta on 2 occasions with no response."

"I have had an account with IG since 2016 and the traction has organically grown with sharing reels and collab posts. On Jan 17 2026 my account after ten years got disabled under false assumptions. I have followed guidelines best to me ability only to have the only source of networking taken away, affecting business and growth for the brands associated with. We comply with guidelines and deserve real people to look through and reverse the decision to simultaneously ban accounts from a glitch within AI scanning. It is obvious its becoming a problem and there are faults to be sorted out before giving less of a chance to help those affected."

"Lost almost every connection to my past in an instant, my closest connections were kept obviously through phone number, but 100s of friends and memories lost in an instant, no only this, but I lost the ability to access purchased gaming content though meta vr devices. I feel as if I have been robbed of my own identity with the accusations made against my account and to that my own digital property, which I do not technically own, but invested money and time into and it just goes away for nothing. Very sad to see such a big company treat its own customers and users like this. Not being able to talk to a human or be updated with proof against you feels almost inhumane to a degree. I wish for there to be a just review process, that doesn’t seem like much of an ask, ultimately we will see."

"Back in December, my Instagram account (and facebook) was disabled after multiple suspensions and responses back from META that I did not violate community standard for Child Sexual Exploitation (possibly for chatting with my 14 year old daughter about her mental health). Then on the 4th suspension I sent my photo as required and suddenly it was permanently disabled with no turning back. I lost 16 years of my life in facebook. Every photo I ever took I dumped in facebook. Photos of my family members who are no longer with us. This is ridiculous, and no where to go from here. Nothing was posted and of course an instant permanent band when asked for a selfie. This needs to be fixed!!!! It’s is not fair Facebook is not accountable for AI baseless bans, with no one to speak to. "Instagram wrongfully suspended my account in early September 2025 under the accusation of CSE. I spent days and nights worried about what I potentially could have been suspended for as I have never engaged in anything of the sort, and assumed it was some sort of system error. Upon filing the appeal, I assumed waiting would help. Days went by, then weeks. I had taken to Reddit to see more and more people in the same situation as me. First the option was legalshield and meta verified but then even that stopped working. I emailed known instagram support emails for days with no luck. Eventually I was fed up with waiting, and took legal action that I am currently in the process of. I'm really disappointed that Meta has not been able to provide any human review, and the only way to contact for support is to take legal action. This is very unfair and has negatively affected my social reputation and socialization, in ways that are difficult to quantify. Many of us exist around the globe, and some are not fortunate enough to be able to appeal. Meta has to pay for what they have done !"

"Ive had facebook and instagram for over 10 years and it suspended all of my accounts due to one of them "not folling guidelines" but I didnt do anything wrong. I tried to make an appeal and ive been waiting over 3 months now with no response and no way to appeal again. I think that this is really outrageous. There's thousands of photos and messages, including ones with loved ones that are no longer here with me, that are irreplaceable and I dont think they should be allowed to just delete your account. Also their verification by taking a photo of yourself makes no sense because some accounts like business ones dont have photos of yourself on there so what the heck are they comparing it to?"

"My Instagram at the beginning of January was also falsely flagged and deactivated for the same reason as everyone else. I appealed the decision and was able to gain access 3 day later. However the following week it was deactivated AGAIN for the same as before. Now every time I try to log in to submit an appeal it tells me there is a “log in error” and I’m not even able to complete the appeal. I’ve tried their stupid self help center, and nothing is working. I’m going on week 4 of not having my Instagram or Facebook because the accounts are linked. There’s no customer support center where you can talk to a real person unless you have an active and verified account that you PAY monthly for. Only then do you get 24/7 access to a “live customer service agent”. If you don’t pay for a verified account then you have no way of getting in contact with a real person or getting any cut service help and are forced to use their self help website that just has broken links and no results and more error codes. Absolutely disgusting. Still trying to find ways to get in contact with SOMEONE to fix my account. Worried I’ll never get access to my accounts again and will lose over 10 years of memories on Facebook and Instagram as well as sharing and enjoying moments in the future with those in my life still on the platforms."

"In November, I woke to a notification that my id upload for age verification was processing (I never got a request, nor did i upload an id), then Meta disabled my fb & 4 Instagram accounts that were attached to it & said I had no more appeals (I never received even one appeal) my only option given was to download my account info for each account, which was mostly useless info as it didn't contain a full catalog of info, pics, videos, messages, posts, etc. These were a mix of personal & business accounts that I've had for as long as 12yrs. I lost years of memories, photos, videos & connections with friends family & customers imcluding legacy accounts of family & friends who have passed away that I can never get back! I still can't make new instagram accounts. I've made 5 new accounts & they were all immediately shut it down, except 1 that lasted a week before they shut it down during the this time each account would get deactivated, id have to do an appeal, verify my phone #, email, upload an id & have scans of my face taken then they would reactivate & almost immediately deactivate the account again until they either exhausted appeals or left me in limbo waiting for a verification code to file an appeal that would never come."

"My Facebook and Instagram were deactivated with no warning or notice almost 4 months ago. I am a mom of 3 young children and rarely ever even posted. I used mostly to keep in touch with family who lives far away and for local school updates or town updates. I am disturbed to know that meta has access to years (I’ve been on these accounts since Facebook and Instagram were launched) of photos and memories of mine and I am no longer allowed to access them. Truly horrifying. If fixed, I will never post again this is such a serious violation for users and quite disturbing that meta has that much power and no accountability. "Had my account for 15+ years, forgot the password. Thought, let's make a new account just to do some browsing. Had to verify with photo id. Said it would take 1 hour or up to a day to verify. So I tried figuring out my old profiles password. Today, both are disabled permanently. Meta ai is trash, nobody uses any of your shit models, so pushing this out to prod is hilarious (I do understand the battle of fighting AI and fake accounts BUT, bro if I provide a photo id and you still ban my account with the same person on it?? WTF?) Hope the company keeps burning because they are on a downwards trajectory (once again, all of there ai models are trash lol, name one person who's utilizing any meta models as agents or anything). Also, is this just a way to data mine peoples faces as the company burns? /Rant"

"I have been on Instagram over ten years. I am a mom of four and an educator. Suddenly Instagram disabled my account for violating community standards. The first ban was in November of 2025. I appealed and after a month, I received a generic apology and they reinstated my account. This pattern repeated over 7 times. I signed up for meta verified on both my facebook and instagram. That was zero help. I cancelled. Today I got a security breach text and email from facebook. I immediately changed my password and secured my account and re signed up with Meta verified AGAIN. no help again. My instagram no has no appeal option. It says my account will be permanently deleted. That's a decade of memories, of my images, videos and contacts. I want my data back. I want my account reinstated. This was an obvious hack or ai security bot error. This is defamation of character. Instagram needs to provide users with real support options and better privacy and security."

"Hi everyone, I’m posting here as a last resort because I genuinely don’t know where else to turn. Since October, I’ve been repeatedly and wrongfully banned by Instagram under the accusation of child sexual exploitation and abuse, which is completely false. I am 16 years old (born July 6, 2009), and over the past few months I’ve lost six accounts total: 3 accounts banned at once then 1 more then 2 more today My most recent main account, @itzgm.an, was suspended and reinstated four separate times, only to be permanently disabled today without the option to appeal. I have also lost the account @ jussgman and all accounts associated and one of my friends has experienced a similar issue with their account @ toxiccqueenx. In the last 30 days alone, I’ve been suspended four times, always for the same allegation, despite not violating Instagram’s rules to my knowledge. If I had done something wrong, I would genuinely want to know what it was so I could avoid it — but I’ve never been told anything specific, and now I’m locked out entirely. This has had real consequences for me. I’ve lost contact with dozens of friends and connections, including accounts that had nothing to do with anything sensitive. There’s no clear path to human review, and it feels like I’m stuck in an automated enforcement loop. I understand Instagram uses AI moderation, especially for serious categories, but in my case the accusation doesn’t make sense — particularly given my age — and the repeated reinstatements suggest the bans themselves were errors."

Losing my Instagram wasn’t just losing a page it was losing a major source of income and years of work overnight. This platform helped me survive financially and showcase my passion. "I've been personally battling this since an ex intentionally had my Business account banned and deleted. I was unable to recover ALL of my old lifetime data because of this and have had to since try and start over again. Which- as many of you will know- it's impossible once their Ai is against you for whatever reason. It will literally work against you, it will try to constantly emotionally high jack you with repetitive sad and depressing themes when/ your account and stuff you engage has 0 to do with being sad or depressed. They are in court now over stuff with teenagers but they need to be accountable for the negative way in which they are dividing society up and the moralism of the impact that it has on those affected."

"A couple of weeks ago, Instagram suddenly suspended my account. I appealed it, but the process was nothing like what I expected. I thought I’d be able to explain the mistake, but instead they put me through a long identity‑verification chain. First they asked for my email. Then my phone number. Then they required biometrics, which completely threw me off because I don’t use that on any of my social platforms. They said the review would take one day — it took almost a week. After that, they asked for a passport, driver’s license, or birth certificate. I was extremely uncomfortable with that, but I submitted it anyway because I wanted my account back. They said that review would take a day too, but it took several more. Eventually, my account was restored. I thought the nightmare was over. Today, I logged in and got a message saying my Instagram is permanently disabled for violating policies related to child sexual exploitation — something I have never been involved in or posted anything remotely close to. Because my Facebook and other social media accounts are linked, those were automatically shut down as well. All of them now say “permanently disabled.” From what I’ve read, it only takes one false report under that category to trigger an automatic shutdown. I’ve also seen multiple people on Reddit describing the exact same situation, so I came here hoping someone has been through this and actually got their account back. I’ll be honest — I’ve also been posting things recently about the current administration and my dissatisfaction with everything going on in the country right now, it’s hard not to wonder if that played a role. I Don’t know 🤷🏽♀️ I’m not making any claims, I’m just trying to understand what happened because none of this makes sense. I’m heartbroken. I had years of memories and photos on there, including people who have passed away. I also do product reviews, so this affects me professionally too. It took me a long time to build my following, and losing everything overnight is crushing."

"I lost my account with zero reason given. I was watching reels, relaxing when a notice popped up that I was "suspended". No reason or reference number was given, and that account had recently been monetized. Around 48 hours later I got a pop up that said my account was "disabled" again, no reason or reference number. I cannot even take it to the oversight board. I have reached out to Meta, no response. I had several games I get paid to play that were tied to that Facebook account. I lost access to all of those, some of which had over 400,000 credits built up to use in Vegas (a trip I was planning for my 2027 birthday). I now have zero access to that game and contacting Popslots has also gotten no response. Thankfully I do have a recent copy of my Facebook back up file so hopefully I have everything I have built since around 2009 or so. But everything I ever posted with that account is also gone from Facebook. I am livid because I work animal rescue and had several animals networked with that account. Now I have to begin from scratch to network animals that already had shareable posts. I am pretty sure I know why I got canned........ I made a post telling people in a group I created to behave. It was right after Charlie Kirk got killed. People were trashing him and each other and my post told them to behave or show themselves to the door to save me the trouble. Less that 48 hours after I made that post I was suspended, then disabled. Also, after the disabling it claimed I could "download my info". Clicking to download resulted in nothing. No way to download the most recent backup. The file I currently have is about 8 months old, has 99% of my stuff but not the most recent. Oddly though the instagram account tied to the Facebook account is perfectly fine. If a class action lawsuit happens and I think it should, I want in on it. Not because I seek compensation, this is a matter of principle. It is an technically, a violation of our first amendment rights."

"My account has been disabled twice. I appealed the decision in December and my Instagram and Facebook accounts were restored. Yesterday, February 3rd, it happened again. This time my Instagram account was disabled and my Facebook account suspended. The reason stated was the I "didn't follow community standards on child sexual exploitation, abuse and nudity". To make this type of an accusation against someone is more than disturbing. There is no way to appeal the decision or to prove that I did nothing wrong. I am a mom of 4 and a grandma of 8 and to be accused of something of this nature is extremely offensive and unsettling. Meta needs to have an option to contact a real person in cases like this so that accounts targeted incorrectly have an avenue for appeal. I have lost 16 years of memories, including wedding photos, birth of grandchildren and so much more. My son serves in the military and I now have no means to communicate with him when he is deployed. I want my accounts restored immediately!"

"Meta isn't just social media but, is tied to many people's careers and livelihood. For someone to be wrongfully banned with little to no option of reclaiming their account could be harmful to their career. While I understand Meta is not responsible for anybodies bills, there is often a symbiotic relationship with th businesses that use meta for marketing, or even regular people that create traffic for Meta via Facebook marketplace. Some aren't even able to make a new account, for it is swiftly banned as well. Not having a means to repeal a wrongful ban, nor the ability to make a new account that could be sustained, is irresponsible and bad business for Meta."

I lost my brand deals that I was working with and had to refund some of the businesses back since I wasn’t able to complete the promo. When I purchased a meta subscription thinking I’ll be able to speak to a real human that could help me. I received no security alerts or emails regarding the unauthorized login, which originated from Hong Kong. My consistent login history reflects that I am based in Virginia, United States. Furthermore, I wish to strongly contest the claim that my account shared content related to "child exploitation". I have never posted such material, and it is clear that this activity occurred while the account was outside of my control. My primary goal is to regain access to my profile to retrieve and download my personal photos and videos. My profile has been active since 2008; I've lost contact with distant family, childhood friends, posting milestones of my nieces. To lose all these memories is heartbreaking."
