"I’ve been using Instagram and Facebook for years! I never faced any problems, flags, warnings, etc for anything on these platforms. Despite the little time I spend on Instagram nowadays, I’m actually a cosplayer and used instagram to create engagement with other cosplayers and use it to keep up with updates. I woke up one morning for work yesterday on February 20th 2026, then POOF! My account was disabled out of no where for “sexual content” or “child sexual exploitation, nudity, harassment or abuse” I was completely flabbergasted and confused by this message! I immediately put in my appeal but within minutes they denied my appeal then that was it account was PERMANENTLY banned. I couldn’t be more furious of how years of memories, highlights, pictures mutual connections all got erased in the blink of an eye. I later discovered my Facebook that was linked to my instagram got disabled along with it. I am not on Facebook much but I use it for family engagement. I couldn’t even sign into my other accounts as I would get the same error “Your password is incorrect” even though my passwords have been the same for as long as I could remember. My sign in codes wouldn’t work and I couldn’t create any new accounts. I tried to get as much help as I possible could but the support team is literally no help and there’s absolutely no way to reach out to anybody for help. Somehow I was successfully able to create a new account on my iPad which was also then disabled the next day… I’ve done a lot of research and noticed that I’m not the only one facing this problem and it’s happening to thousands of other people. The Meta company needs to face some serious charges for this or something because this is outrageous how I can’t even use a social media platform for no reason what so ever and I’m getting falsely banned for something I have NEVER done."

I work hard to Build my connections, and I also work hard to improve my career using social media.All of that was wiped away in seconds without any Type of regard for what i've built , not to mention that the ai system is extremely buggy , and seems to flag you for things that aren't actually true due to it being reviewed by an ai instead of an actual human being. "I have been on Facebook since 2007. When I linked my Instagram account (which was used for community outreach in my region to facilitate events and gatherings) and it was suspended in error, I never imagined I would have to say goodbye to almost 20 years of memories and connections that I have no possible means of recovering. Additionally, "starting over" is impossible -- Facebook does not offer a "download all content" option that truly makes all your content available. I tried this option and only received three pictures and a few Facebook logo images. This has caused extreme mental distress and, after speaking with Meta support (realizing that these support agents are outsourced to India with no real power to help), I am hoping to band together other affected users to pursue legal action against Meta."

"Let’s all review bomb Instagram on the App Store to force their hand into fixing the app. I’ve also contacted my local attorney general. This has been a problem for the last 8 months and they clearly don’t care about their customers. I’ve been banned for 2 months now with NO way to appeal. The only way to get in contact with anyone from their customer support team as if you pay them for a monthly subscription in order to have 24 seven access to a “live human agent”. Tried doing this on my friends account who is active where we paid for this subscription, and they told us that there was nothing that they could do to help my account because we were contacting them through someone else’s account that wasn’t mine, even though we paid for their stupid subscription. Greedy money hungry company with a broken AI moderation system with ZERO customer support unless you pay them."

"Meta disabled both my Instagram and Facebook account accounts back in mid December claiming I violated community standards of sexual exploitation. In late January they randomly gave me both accounts back with full functionality as if nothing ever happened. On February 2 however, both accounts were deactivated again this time claiming I violated community standards. On both occasions I appealed using Meta’s prompts to appeal the decision. I don’t know how long it may take for them to realize their AI made another mistake and they give my accounts back but I have no reason to believe it won’t happen again a few days after that with another AI scan. There needs to be some accountability and there needs to be a better support system provided by Meta."

"As a user since almost the beginning, it a challenging decision whether or not to let my teen have an account. As a parent I worried about mental health, bullying, screen time, etc. but what ended up taking the biggest toll on my teen’s mental health was the broken AI, erroneous bans, and nonexistent support process. Even with “teen accounts” settings and careful use, the account was permanently banned, without warning, clarification, or the ability to appeal the alleged “community guideline violations.” Social media literacy has to be taught. It is hard enough to teach teens about the real dangers out there while also having to teach them that even if they do everything right, one morning they can wake up and the privilege is revoked without any ability to comprehend why or rectify the situation."

"Had account restricted/disabled for "Spam" and only posts I made (And maybe only 2 to 3 every other day, sometimes days without posting), it got disabled and couldn't get my pictures, videos, contacts. This was an account in good standing with zero warnings, no comment removals. I requested review, which they sent me an email back NOW saying it was copy write infringement and that they had warned me previously. They obviously have the wrong person as I only typed out messages or shared news links from local news. This AI moderation is flawed and they are defending it."

"My Instagram accounts (antonio.m1 and a linked professional account I manage, beast_marotta) were permanently disabled under serious policy allegations. I categorically deny violating Meta’s Community Standards. What is particularly relevant to this Board’s review is that the same account was previously suspended under similar policy categories and reinstated multiple times after Meta determined that no violations occurred. Despite this documented history of false positives, the most recent enforcement was labeled “final.” Once the decision was marked final, Meta provided no specific content, timestamps, evidence, or explanation to justify the permanent disablement. Appeals were exhausted, escalation to a Meta Pro Team supervisor resulted only in repeated templated responses, and I was ultimately blocked from replying further, effectively cutting off communication. This experience highlights a critical lack of due process in Meta’s account disablement practices, particularly when decisions are made outside the strike system or based on vague “account integrity” assessments. Users are left unable to understand what behavior allegedly violated policy, correct errors, or meaningfully challenge serious allegations that can permanently erase years of personal and professional content."

"Been on facebook since 2010 and out of nowhere I received a email stating that my account was suspended for allegedly violating Community Standards regarding the sexualization of children. I immediately appealed this decision, but the appeal was denied shortly after filing. I've tried emailing Facebook appeal for support with no response, researching the issue on google and it seems im not the only one dealing with this and unfortunately it appears I won't get my account back due to Facebooks lack of human review to their AI."

"I was blocked out of my account about a month ago for the broken AI process and under false accusations that Meta should not be left unaccounted for. After appealing, I was blocked again, appealed again, and blocked a third time. The fact that my pictures cannot be recovered, that my account is wrongfully blocked, and that Meta has failed to adequately use AI and instead is hurting it's users and providing zero actual support to confirm the mistake, this is completely unacceptable. Not to mention the lack of actual and real customer support."

"I left FaceBook of my own accord when I went back they made me do the Face video and determined I was not human. WTH? Instagram started harassing my account. I posted on a CARE CREDIT post that if you know your budget it is a good card, it restricted my account. I am not kidding and took a screenshot and appealed - nothing just a now restricted account but they push the like button. I am done with toxic people who purposely harm others but am signing this for those still in the fight. "Last week I woke up to a message from fb saying my account was suspended due to child sexual exploitation. I have never posted anything inappropriate or had any activity regarding that. I appealed it right and got denied right away. I had lost all my precious photos of my son from the last 18 years and photos of my mom who passed away 2 years ago from cancer. "I've had Facebook for 20 years with no warnings or violations. My account was suddenly disabled with no option to appeal. The instructions in the Help Centre lead to dead ends (send a video, it's approved, I try to log in, my account is still disabled). It's an endless loop. The only way to get in touch with a human is to pay for Meta Verified, and not only did they say they "don't have the option" to help me because "the system doesn't allow it", but if you ask for help too much they don't let you submit more help requests. In 2026 it's unacceptable for a multibillionaire to not have human customer service agents that can help you. I don't care about getting my account back- I care about the 20 years of photos, posts, comments, and messages from my dead family members that I can't see anymore. What an absolute garbage system that shows exactly why humans should not be replaced by AI."

Even if their garbage AI actually believes all of these widespread supposed violations of standards or guidelines are legit, why is their no "strike" process anymore? Give people a chance to change behavior, or at least plead their case to a real human if they were unaware they were in violation of something. Now its instantaneous suspensions/disablements at the whim of an infantile AI, and an "appeal" process that is even more abysmal. One singular chance to "appeal", if you're allowed to at all, no section or box to provide any context or plea in the consideration, followed by an almost instantaneous "review" that decides your fate in less than a couple minutes. Thousands of people losing decades of memories in the blink of an eye that can never be recovered."

No explanation, and the appeal was pointless as it is done by the same faulty A.I system they have running it. As a result I have lost contact with many friends worldwide, aswell as family. Not further details, no access to support, no ability to recover data, no procedural fairness. Years of family and friends memories now gone and no real understanding of why. Then the fact that the ban pushes across all other Meta services then has wide ranging affects as businesses and community groups turn to Messenger and WhatsApp their primary communication tool. There were multiple suspicious log in attempts after the Instagram data leak. They failed to protect our data, but now we get punished for it? "Meta Falsely Accused Me of Child Sexual Exploitation Without Any Reason Meta suddenly labeled my account with “child sexual exploitation” without clearly explaining what I did. No specific post, message, photo, or date was provided. Just a vague, automated statement that I violated policy. This is not a minor warning. It is one of the most serious accusations possible, and even a false label can destroy someone’s reputation, mental health, and opportunities. If Meta can make a claim this extreme, it must also provide basic transparency and a real appeal process. I support strict action against real exploitation. But “protecting children” cannot be used as an excuse to punish innocent users through a black box system with no evidence and no accountability. All I am asking for is fairness. Show the exact content that triggered the decision, explain the reasoning, allow human review, and fix the damage when the system gets it wrong."

My 15-year-old Instagram account and 17-year-old Facebook account contained years of personal history, photos, and contacts. My 10k-follower business account was removed overnight, along with my dog’s 6k-follower account and my entire photography portfolio page. Since the ban, every attempt to create a new account has been automatically disabled within hours, preventing me from rebuilding or accessing Meta’s services. In a single swipe of the AI I lost nearly two decades of digital history, my primary business platform, and my ability to communicate with customers, with no meaningful explanation or path to proper review. THIS HAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED ME MENTALLY AND FINANCIALLY."

"There is more to this, this focus of META's on small businesses in other countries means as a US company, it is actually destroying other countries small business economy, is this strategic? who knows? but by the looks of it on this petition and news stories there is more focus on countries outside of the US. The competition government authorities in every country being impacted by META's mass unwarranted bans to small businesses in countries outside of the US, should investigate META for breaches of competition, and META should pay more taxes to these countries for the disruption to their small business economies. In Australia the ACCC competition authority must be notified of this, so that the Australian government can tax META more tax for the disruption to it's mid to small size business economies, if META will not stop it's unwarranted ban by it's automated systems on small businesses in Australia."

"I out of nowhere got permanently banned on Instagram, mind you I never got in trouble with Instagram once before. They also did not tell me what I did at all, at least I seen others get false reasons. They gave me no reason just violation of community guidelines. Then to make it worse I was on FB and a month later it was permanently banned because it detected it was linked to my Instagram account that was permanently banned, so they were permanently banning my FB as well, then they permanently banned my other FB and my other ig account for being connected with the main ig account. These accounts I have had for over 15 years. Memeries, photos, friends, groups, businesses just gone out of nowhere. People think I blocked them. This should be illegal."

"My computer was hacked and this person got access to my emails for MANY accounts. They got my instagram disabled by posting something inappropriate which in turn got my facebook disabled. I have had my facebook account for 20 years and my instagram account for about 12 years. All I post on insagram are pictures of my dogs or other dogs & cats from my work. I immediately appealed but of course got denied immediately. I tried going via their help page which might as well just say "we can't and won't help you so don't bother." So I used an old instagram account to get verified because I read you can talk to an agent that way. I was able to submit my plea and attach documents. I think I'm getting somwhere finally. Of course I press submit and am met with "that failed." So I try again and am met with "you've exceeded your help requests, they're limited for new accounts." Because that makes sense right? The new people need less help than the people with established verified accounts? Anyway, didn't tell me when I'm allowed to request help again. Google said 24-72 hours, but if I attempted again in 24 hours but they were secretly going to make it not allowed til 48 hours, does that mean it will be AN ADDITIONAL 24-72 hours? And until when? Forever? It is UNJUST that someone should be able to have someone's account shut down so easily and yet it is literally impossible for the owner of said account to get it back. They say they use ai to scan things and that it can make a mistake. Obviously it didn't make a mistake, someone did post something (again, supposedly) illicit on my account. However, it's obviously not intelligent enough to be like "hmm, this seems out of the ordinary, also the display picture was changed to a person who's not in ANY of the pictures posted over the past 12+ years. Perhaps this should be reviewed." GIVE ME MY ACCOUNT BACK! GIVE US ACCESS TO HELP TO GET OUR ACCOUNTS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Like others I have been on since the beginning, including a couple of business pages, have purchased ads, etc. I was recently banned as "spam" (as far as I can tell - they are not very transparent but I had to do a verification which failed). I've worked in antifraud for a long time and know the perils and false positives of automated tools, so it's extra frustrating. I even know some former Meta employees but they too know first hand that Meta is disinvesting in having a quality platform."

"Have had an unproblematic Instagram account for well over 10 years. All of a sudden, I get an email that my account has violated CSE policies after I answer messages from a close friend's cousin regarding college admissions earlier that day. After reviewing all of the rules on their Help page, I still have no clue what I could have possibly violated. Of course the appeal gets rejected within a couple of hours, as I doubt a human is reviewing it. There's no reason for me to have to deal with this false accusation staining my personal record. Things need to change."

"I have had instagram for years and never had an issue with anything. I have always followed community guidelines and rules. I always used the platform for my own personal use like being able to contact family and friends or share pictures and videos with them as well as being able to follow my favorite clothings brands, finding new places to eat or try out to visit and following my favorite artists all as a platform should be used. But recently I was wrongfully accused of CSE having my account suspended and banned and it has been very frustrating and it makes me angry because my algorithm had no thing of such and I would never interact with such horrible things. All my feed consisted was of clothing, makeup, nails, home remedies/ DIY, hair care and skins care, musicians and artists, tattoos, wild animals, and pets. It has startled me and I have been trying to appeal and try to find help or some kind of human support to recover my account and make clear that my account was wrongly compromised yet nothing and issue not fixed at all. And even after I have tried to make a new account I am still banned and it is not fair and feels very wrong because I know I have done none of those things ! And I hope there is a change about this new use of meta ai because I am not the only victim of this !"

"I had my Facebook account suspended 4 days ago with no concrete reason given. I had a business page attached to my account which I was advertising upcoming events on. It really impacts me as I was using FB as the primary platform for promoting those events and the suspension means, of course, those promotions are now in limbo, as I was the only co-ordinator. I have also lost connections with friends and colleagues with whom I have recently reconnected with on FB. The lack of care from FB over these random suspensions is astonishing."

No further details or access to . Years of memories of my family, kids, friends just gone. This is so upsetting that meta would do this to people. At least give a good reason why your deleting accounts. I use this for my business and personal reasons as well . I have lost so much stuff on Facebook. They need to make it right for people there should be some kind of warning before you start banning people . Make it right Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook. "My Facebook was disabled 3 weeks ago on 2/20/26. On a different avenue, I acknowledge that my account was suspended correctly and subsequently disabled after "appeal" as I had in fact violated a caveat of one of their Community Standards that I was unaware of until it happened. But even though I know my intent was never illicit, harmful, vulgar, etc., their "machine learning" robot doesn't see it that way. Just instantly decides you don't get to exist anymore. My biggest problem with Meta after this is, I get trying to be strict in protecting community and children on the platform, that there are lots of bad people out there intentionally looking to do harm, but their AI's "scorched earth" and strictly "black and white" one-directional programming that denies appeals almost instantly with no human input, no consideration for any context or plea of innocence/forgiveness, no chance to MEANINGFULLY appeal with any chance to right wrongs before accounts are fully disabled is just vile. Not to mention it's still incredibly buggy with the amount of false bans as evidenced by this petition. They claim they still use "teams" too, but it is almost undeniable that each and every suspension/ban is entirely automated now. Who needs real people working anymore anyway, right?"

"Outrageously just banned no doubt by a bot targeting accounts that they dislike general comments of. Been with Facebook from the beginning of it and have never actually posted anything even related to the topic they're suggesting. Asked for an appeal and immediately was informed technology reviewed it and my account is at risk of a ban. Zero human oversight or accountability yet bot profiles only recently created can have content taken down that disproves certain views of geopolitics with sourced facts. Will be incorporating this learning experience into talks I frequently give as it's been a fascinating insight into what I now see as a significant issue putting people at risk given that their algorithm can get posts so wrong and the same algorithm agrees with the first part."

"I had been using facebook for years, since I was in my adolesence. At the time of writing this, I am now 26 years old. My Facebook account was permanently disabled sometime last year after I tried to appeal the decision; the AI moderation system falsely flagged my account as having suspicious behavior, and trying to appeal it didn't work. I even attempted to create a new account under a different e-mail address I have, only for that to also be disabled as well. The AI moderation system gives false positives to so many people and I was one of the many people affected by this. The worst part, is how there is absolutely zero customer support for Meta services, not by humans. All of it is completely AI-driven. This type of moderation system is deeply flawed and is disabling people's accounts left and right, even accounts that people have had since the early days of Facebook. That, to me, is despicable and there needs to be a change to the obviously broken moderation system that's in place."
