"My Facebook account that I opened in January 2009 was disabled in July 2024. Due to a fraudulent Instagram account violating community standards. I woke up on July 28th 2024 to email notifications of suspicious log in attempts. My account had been hacked, from an IP address in Texas, USA. My Facebook password had been changed, my Instagram was also hacked and a fraudulent Instagram account was linked to my Facebook. I was able to recover my Instagram fairly quickly but my Facebook is still disabled/ suspended a year later. I contacted all the numerous emails for both platforms with no replies. I refuse to pay Meta money just to talk to a human being. I lost many years of memories and pictures as well as connections with people . It's all very suspicious behavior and most likely an inside job with this social media giant and it needs to be stopped."

"It truly breaks my heart how many of us have to go through the same situation of being accused of something we have never done and meta so having to take away many year of precious and contacts with people we love and know. It doesn't make any sense as to why instagram and Facebook have assigned meta an AI to identify whether they can deem an account is truly breaking their guidelines or accusing other of being AI. This in turn shows that meta an AI used to take over an utmost important job of what a human should be doing not an AI which can't even identify right from wrong. Having to experience almost 1 week of being accused of exploiting young childern/nudity was by far the most disappointing and out right outrageous. the fact for being accused that right after posting a intimate birthday party with friends was flagged for going against the community guideline confused me. This situation as a whole showed how little instagram and Facebook has lowered their standard just so they don't have to hire people to do the utmost important job."

"I was trying to create a new Meta Business Account so I could advertise my business on IG. However, in the middle of trying to create the Meta Business Account, it suddenly tell me my account is suspended because I was violating some community rules. I was at a loss since for the life of me I have no idea what rules I violated, as everything I filled out was all just business information and there was nothing unusual at all. Then I tried to appeal and that process was very painful. Finally it went through, and days later, I received the message that it was denied. There were no explanations and no details other than I violated rules. It also told me not to appeal again and that I am permanently barred! It was extremely frustrating! I guess they just don't care for me business. I wish I knew why."

Without warning, my account was falsely banned for something as serious and heartbreaking as CSE, an accusation that is not only completely untrue but incredibly damaging. This wasn’t just one account. The ban triggered the loss of multiple connected accounts, including my Facebook and business-related pages. "I’ve had an account for over 10 years; on June 9th of 2025 it was taken away; appealing through their system led me to a message that said that I’d receive a response/decision in 3 business days. 30 seconds after I get to that page I get an email saying that my account was permanently disabled. I’ve been unable to reach any form of support or customer service through phone or email; and as a result I’ve faced scrutiny at work and been snubbed by friends. "I'm a 26-year-old Mexican entrepreneur who used Facebook to promote my food business. I had a page with 300 followers, which I had built up over nearly a year, and it was generating regular sales. My biggest mistake was linking my business profile and page to my personal account. Almost a month ago, my mother fell ill, and it's common in Mexico to share food posts, so I searched for a light dish in several Facebook groups. Minutes later, I received a notification from Facebook saying my post about the food had been reported for "Child Sexual Abuse". They banned me, claiming I could appeal, but all they required was a video of my face, only to permanently ban me minutes later. To this day, Meta has taken down my business account and my personal account, which held my last messages from my father, who passed away in 2014, and cherished memories with my closest friends. The page had been active since 2009. Meta has taken a part of my life, and I have no idea how to recover it. Please, let this reach the right people. Enough of AI overreach."

Despite complying with their process and confirming I am a real individual, they denied the appeal the following day. The sudden removal has damaged my professional reach and access to clients and collaborators, as I used my account for business purposes. I have attempted to contact Instagram through all available channels — including in-app support, email, and external forms — and received no human follow-up or explanation. Their system appears to be heavily automated, with no reasonable customer service or recourse for legitimate users. This practice is unfair and detrimental to small businesses and creators who depend on the platform. Not to mention the loss of access to countless family and friends that I'm now experiencing. There is no way to contact Meta and I can't even use the Verified method because I can't access my accounts. I recently allowed my teenager to get Instagram and was monitoring her account thru mine. That is no longer possible. I made another account with a different email address so I could view business pages and try to monitor hers, and that one was banned too. My mom recently died and my posts about her were still reaching people, and they're now gone. 20 years of memories have just disappeared, I am without several important resources, and I'm feeling extremely isolated. No recourse, no support, no humans to go to for help. Someone needs to fix this ASAP."

"Despite having two-factor authentication and responding that it was not me to a notification that somebody was trying to login to my account on Sun, Aug. 3, 2025, my account was still hacked (they somehow "verified" that I was under 13... despite my account being started in 2005) and Facebook disabled my account, including my business account and subsequently my Instagram business account for "being under 13" (I am almost 4x that age). I am self employed and have worked for years building up my following and rely on these accounts for communication with my audience, not to mention friends and family on my main personal account. I didn't even get a chance to appeal the suspension before they disabled my accounts. That email offering an appeal came about 12 hours after the fact and it was no longer an option when I clicked on it to appeal. I have tried to reach out - verifying by AI with a selfie which failed for no good reason, tried to find live, or at least email, support, and nothing, no responses to emails sent, no 48 hour promised response to another "manual review" .. just a message over and over that "your account has been disabled". And now my email address has been disconnected. The hackers seem to still have more access than I do. I have never violated any community standards or terms of service. I have filed a complaint with my state's Attorney General and will be passing this off to my own attorney for further action. If this is not resolved, my business (including myself and family) will suffer serious repercussions as I am unable to communicate with the following that I have built over many years. Losing access to family and friends online, as well as my business following, has taken a major emotional toll on me. This is totally unacceptable."

"I've Had Instagram since 2017, this includes Facebook and WhatsApp as well. My account was suspended and I appealed it and 20 minutes later I was permanently banned. From what I've seen this has been an issue for months now and Meta hasn't done anything. Years of memories are gone and friends I can only contact through Instagram I'm unable to contact again."

"I’ve had my Instagram for 8 years and my Facebook even longer and I’ve never had issues with either until meta came along. I got flagged for CSE which is highly false, and they deleted both accounts at the same time, I retrieved my Facebook but I was told by customer support of meta after verifying and buying a blue check on Facebook that there’s nothing they can do. It’s been gone since Father’s Day and I have yet to hear from anyone on why my page is gone and I can’t get it back. This is complete bs, and I wish I could get my page back. I ran a business and was gaining profit. Mets can’t get away with this AI stuff."

"At the beginning of August my insta account was suddenly disabled after not even having posted in nearly a month. No way to appeal, no one responding to any form of communication. I spent over 3 hours trying to find this mysterious appeal process that was mentioned in the 1 email notification provided that my account had been disabled due to something truly unbelievable only to realize there is no way to appeal. No matter what you click on it just takes you in circles. I’ve had my insta account for almost 15 years and my facebook for nearly 20. Years worth of memories and friends absolutely gone. It’s heartbreaking and disgusting how meta more or less steals your memories without even the due justification of why. Both of those accounts were methods of communication to my friends, family, graduated students, a whole community of professionals and neighbors. What’s even more frustrating are the number of spam accounts able to continue on without problem. Why would anyone knowing that this is a possibility ever even willingly subject themselves to losing all of their personal memories. We’ve become too trusting; trust that these giant conglomerates have our best interests in mind when in reality there’s no one even behind the scenes and everything has turned to AI. Social media is such a central part of life these days and to have this source of communication ripped away with absolutely no warning at all was beyond devastating; I don’t think I’ve ever felt so isolated in my entire life. You stole nearly 20 years of my life meta and others need to be warned."

"I've had facebook since 2007 and lost my facebook and 3 instagram accounts (mine, my son's, and my daugheter's) in June because they're all linked. I've tried appealing with no response or update. I've lost 20 years of memories of all 3 of my children being born and all of the photos and events shared. I've since recreated an instagram account and reshared 3 years of information for my daughter. I tried creating an instagram account for myself last night and used my email address and my daughter's new instagram account that took me 40 hours to rebuild has now been blocked because it's "owned by the same person or entity as an account that has been disabled". Because of an error in the AI process that flagged my original account, my new account has now been taken down as well. Something is broken here."
