"My Facebook account was hacked on 12/5/2025 then permanently disabled on 12/8/2025 unbeknownst to me since the hacker changed my forwarding emails setting. By the time I found out it was too late. I have had this account for almost 20yrs and now it's gone! No matter what I try it doesn't work since Facebook doesn't offer any help if your account was permanently disabled. I even have DEFINITIVE proof that I was hacked but it doesn't matter since no human will see it. This isn't fair!! They shouldn't be allowed to do this!! The emotional distress this has caused me is unreal! I just want to prove my case and get my account back!!"

I have requested an appeal, did the selfie and ID verification and still got deleted within a matter of minutes. I have been dealing with this same issue since June 2025. I have been building a brand for 5 years and people recognize my brand. I haven't posted anything regarding child sexual exploitation nor do I support nor condone such heinous activities as I photograph children and teenagers with parent consent. This severely impacts my business as I cannot get into contact with clients or generate revenue for my business."

"I had my Instagram account since 2019. Over the years, it became a space of collecting memories & staying connected with friends. April 2025, I deactivated the account for privacy and mental health reasons, something I believed was supported by the platform. Despite this, my account was deleted without any warning, email, or chance to appeal. I hadn’t violated any rules. I simply needed a break. Instead of being respected for protecting my mental health, I was deleted. Instagram needs to be more transparent and humane in how it handles user accounts. No one should lose years of their digital life without explanation or recourse. And why does this platform offer no customer service? The help center is functionally useless. I’m hearing the platform recently overhauled their operations to Meta AI. Now what did we learn here after making such a move: Mass deletion of innocent accounts and no way to obtain your data after the fact. This completely unacceptable."

Me and more than a couple of my friends have been unjustly suspended/disabled from threads and instagram constantly in short amounts of time that it’s ridiculous. "I have not been a fan of Meta for several reasons and had cut ties with all Meta energy cords. However in July, I decided to sign up to list something on FB Marketplace—without intent to engage any further. I signed up with my personal email and was asked to scan my face for biometric verification. Well, I was not approved, because I went against community guidelines and in the email was told I cannot make another account. It’s silly. But folks can I give you some words of advice…..this is a blessing. Trust me, I know that your personal memories and businesses have been falsely ripped from you. But, time will heal and you will find other means to bring in business and to connect with those that are truly meaning and can withstand the test of time —without relying on tech that is not of integrity. Meta is not trustworthy—it’s proven this time and time again. You can NOT give your power away to an entity that does not have ones’ best interest at heart. They simply just don’t care. "I have nothing but maybe 30 family travel pictures. All pictures are typically family pictures in full clothing and of scenery. I have not uploaded anything new in a yr or so. Yet, for some unknown reason, Instagram has randomly suspended my account for "child explanation." This is not ok. That accusation is 100% inaccurate and a disgusting accusation. "My Facebook account was suspended in December 2023 because they said there was an account linked to it on Instagram that was inappropriate and that I needed to remove the link between Facebook and instagram. I don’t have an Instagram account so how can I remove the link. I emailed customer support several times and never received a response. I lost all photos that I had shared of my kids first days of school since 2009. Facebook and messenger were my only ways to contact several of my family members that live out of state. "My Facebook account, which I had since 2009, was deleted due to account integrity issues. Facebook believes I'm not a real person and has given me no opportunity to appeal. Thousands of emails have been rejected, and forms keep showing errors. I'm a content creator since 2023 with a monetized account and 180k followers, but I never paid for Meta verification, and because I refused to do so, I was banned from the platform. My Instagram account has also been affected. Facebook represented a second income for me, and in addition to this, I have over 16 years of memories stored there. I'm currently 29 years old and I'm a person without a digital identity. Facebook and Instagram don't allow me to create new accounts because my name is on the ban list; even with different spelling, they keep taking down my accounts because the Meta technology. This is incredibly frustrating, and I admit I've been going through a period of depression since the platform's earnings represented at least 50% of my monthly income, not to mention all the memories that they don't allow you to download from your security settings. I never imagined losing my Facebook account and with it, a part of my identity. I lost many close friends during COVID, and all their memories remained on that platform. My childhood, adolescence, and professional growth are now in limbo, not to mention that the payments I had pending will never be processed due to "account security" reasons."

"My Autistic adult son used Instagram and Facebook as way of communicating with others like him with shared interests. He also used the platforms to promote his blues clues recreations and was followed by Josh Delacruz (blues clues host), Tracy page Johnson (show creator), Dave Palmer (show animator), Nick Jr., and some of the voice actors. I took him to different comic cons where he meet many of them in person and they followed his pages. Meta shut his account down with a very serious allegation of sexual exploitation of children. We immediately appealed it and within 20 minutes had a response that his account was reviewed and went against community standards. Clearly AI reviewed it and not a human which then made it clear he was never getting his account back. Wirh no way to get ahold of a real person to review the mistake the AI made. This has caused him to lose all meaningful connections with his idols, friends, and supportive community. Being Autistic he has no one in our local community that has ever taken interest in him and what he loves. He only has family and feels very lonely. I am disgusted that Metas practices have not only labeled him as a predator but also made him lose all meaningful connections outside of our home. They need to be held accountable for destroying my son's name and mental health with such a disgusting accusation. That is something that could cause huge legal trouble if it were true and I do not take it kindly that they have done this to so many people. I understand the public does not know the reason meta flagged the account for but he knows and it is completely inexcusable for him to have to think a company thanks that of him."

"My meta accounts were suspended after I posted a photo of my high school daughter and her homecoming date from the waist up, wearing school appropriate attire (her in a dress with a square neckline and him in a suit). There was also a photo of my daughter, her friends, and their dates - all wearing dresses and suits which are school appropriate - posing in the typical fashion in a parent’s living room. These same photos were shared by other users, but only I was falsely accused of child exploitation/nudity. Either their AI flagged it mistakenly or someone submitted a bogus report. I understand they are trying to keep the internet safe and mistakes will be made BUT they said it usually takes “just over a day” to review. It’s been longer than that. I emailed Instagram to ask how much longer it will take and they have not yet responded. I supervise my teen’s Instagram account and I’m unable to do that because I can’t access my account. They need to hire enough staff to review reports promptly and to respond in a timely manner to requests for support. This is completely unacceptable."

"I tried to use all my options to still no avail. They gave me no warning or opportunity to appeal this decision. And even when I got to talk to a real customer support member they still said there was nothing they could do and the decision was final and I was not allowed to get my account back after years I spent building on it and making memories too. "Of course. Here's a more grounded, but still personal and deep, version. --- That "disable for false claims" notice did more than take me off Meta. It cut a direct line to my business. Now, I can't use any Meta products. It's a total blackout. The help forms feel like talking to a wall, and there's no way to appeal to a person who can actually understand the situation. The hardest part is looking at the numbers. That "disable" didn't just shut down a page—it stranded the money, time, and strategy I'd built into it. "I was randomly banned on 11/17/25 for allegedly violating community standards on my Instagram account. Now I my Instagram, Facebook, and Facebook Messenger accounts are all disabled. I did a selfie photo for appeal on 11/23/25, and haven't heard back from anyone or reinstated my accounts. I sent another selfie today 12/23 and I sent a message to Meta support from a friend's Facebook account, since I have no access to my own. Luckily, I don't use my accounts for business, otherwise I would've been in deep trouble. However, I have a lot of memories on those accounts. Also, I communicate with friends and family members in far places through those accounts, and it all came to a stop due to this wrongful flag of my account. I think it's ridiculous how many people have been and are currently being affected by this, and Meta still hasn't got their crap together."

"I didnt violate any terms of Instagram and yet still they said that my account is permanently disabled for being connected to a banned account or something like that. After they said that I couldnt appeal, and its just a cycle where if I create a new account it automatically gets banned. I also cant reach out to instagram and contact them since it doesnt show how to on any of their websites, and using the information that I got from their website, it basically said, " If you have tried to appeal a ban before, and it got denied, you cant appeal again." And plus, my account status was 100% clear with green checks all over it which proves that my account was following the rules and never broke the community guidelines! They need more humans to speak to on Instagram! Too many people's innocent accounts are being incorrectly banned while people who actually are breaking the rules of the platform get to stay! And I still haven't gotten my account back about 2 weeks later! Sick of this!"

"My Instagram account has been suspended by Meta on 12/23 with a wrongful accusation of posting child sexual abuse material. I received an email notification of the suspension with no information on the content in question. I'm a passive dormant user of the Instagram and Facebook platforms and haven't posted anything in years - upto the date of suspension. This is a false accusation by Meta, leading to defamation of character due to the gravity of the allegation. My facebook account that's linked to Instagram is also suspended. I've tried to submit the appeal on the Instagram platform using the video-selfie process, however I'm not sure if the submission went through as the platform errored out on the submission of the video-selfie. I'm unable to log in to Instagram and Facebook to pursue any further steps recommended in the Help articles - hence I'm at a dead-end with no information or support from Meta to get this resolved. Meta needs to be held accountable for these alleged false accusations. I appreciate if anyone could provide some insights into how you went about handling this issue, so it can help others in the community who are going through this turmoil."

"Hello I was an Instagram users since 2018. I have so many memories in my account. Both Facebook and Instagram. Recent around September my ig account was disabled. I thankfully got it back with 5 days. But not even a month later. Dec 11, I was wrongly disabled again for violation something not true. Since then I have not been able to long into my Facebook because they are both linked. Until a couple days ago I decided to make another Ig account to see if I can recover my old account thru meta verified. I decided to pay the 14.99 + tax price. No later than 3 hours later , my new ig account had been banned. Since then I have been trying to get a refund on my money because it is absolutely unexpected."

"There should be an actual human verifying the content to which meta has deemed an account inappropriate or not following the rules. My accounts were disabled and I assume permanently closed after I tried to appeal (I still don’t have access and I appealed over a week ago) for child exploitation, abuse or nudity. NONE of these things were posted on my pages. If posting a picture of my child at a gymnastics competition is child exploitation then you better have shut down the photography pages that post and promote their business for sport photography all day long. I totally understand having standards to keep terrible content off social media but there should be someone VERIFYING that the content is accurate as accused. This is complete crap that there is a one time appeal and no where to go after that. People’s businesses are affected, people have lost memories with family and friends who may not even be with us anymore. Do better."

"I was all the sudden blocked from using my Facebook and the message stated that I violated community standards on another Meta platform(which had to be Instagram, as I have no other accounts) which I never even used, I started it when it became "hot" so I didn't lose the chance at having what I wanted as a handle(which I can't even remember now lol) and I tried to appeal it and was instantly denied even after sending a facial scan to prove I was a real person.
