"My main account got suspended numerous times (over 7) in the course of a month, sometimes 3 times in the same day, over being flagged as a bot by Instagram's AI system. Then my art account was banned, losing contact to many of my mutuals, because Instagram thought that I was evading the rules! Then my main account got banned. I cannot begin to describe how much distress this has caused me--and frustration because Meta doesn't have any human support for these issues. Stop using AI for moderation! Start hiring real people!"

"I have so many family pictures and messages I would love to resume access to. Being wrongfully suspended/closed off my account without being able to speak to a representative is unfair to the community that helped bring this platform up to where it stands now. I have had my accounts for since high school, I’m currently 29 years old and all my memories and family access are through those apps. This isn’t only frustrating, but emotionally damaging, hence the fact I can no longer see how my family is doing from afar. I have appealed on 04/24/25, yet it states that I appealed on 04/25/25 for some reason. Same with the ban, even though I lost access a day earlier than what is documented. I hope this could be resolved. We need a voice."

"My daughter’s gymnastics Instagram, which she used for athlete promotion and potential college recruitment, was falsely flagged for “child exploitation,” even though I managed the account as her parent to monitor content and messages responsibly. As a result, Meta deleted not only her account, but also my personal Instagram and Facebook account I’ve had for nearly 20 years—without warning, meaningful explanation, or real opportunity for human review. Along with losing my daughter’s recruiting platform, I lost decades of family photos, videos, and memories, many of them irreplaceable. One erroneous automated decision wiped out years of personal history and disconnected us from communities and communication channels we rely on. This is not just about one mistaken ban—it’s about the lack of due process, the harm caused by unchecked AI moderation, and the devastating consequences when accounts across all Meta platforms are disabled at once. "My Account of nearly 10 years was falsely suspended Midway through April with absolutely no warning or consideration on behalf of Meta or Facebook, I had my future Career dedicated to Instagram and Meta as my account of over 3K followers was supposed to be my advertisement for my brand, I started my account back when I was 11 and I’ve invested my life’s work into my page and gained popularity better the years of 2018-2020 and I was planning one of the biggest reveals I’ve ever made until my account told me I was banned for exploitation despite having more than enough proof of my innocence. Instagram denied my appeal with absolutely no good explanation other than they determined my account to have violated terms and services (they never actually investigated as it was only 1 minute after I sent the appeal) I better either get my account back, or all the money I could’ve earned from me putting in my literal life’s work into!"

I’ve had this page for many years, and for the past three years, I’ve used it to advocate for childhood cancer awareness and to share my journey through grief after losing my daughter last year. This account holds years’ worth of photos and videos of both my daughters—memories that are deeply meaningful to me. I kindly ask for your assistance in reactivating my account so I can regain access to these memories. I submitted an appeal on October 5th but have not yet received a response. My Facebook account was also disabled, but it was reinstated two days later with an apology from Meta for the mistake. However, I haven’t heard back yet about my Instagram account."

"Recently, Meta (Instagram/Facebook/Messenger) permanently disabled all my accounts. No warning, no explanation I could respond to, no chance to correct anything. Just a notification saying my account was permanently disabled for “sexualization of minors.” That accusation is horrifying, false, and deeply upsetting. What makes this worse is that the decision appears to have been made entirely by an automated system, and there’s no meaningful appeal, no human review I can reach, no contact with support — nothing. You’re simply locked out of your life overnight. I rely on these accounts for communication, photos, memories, and staying connected with family. And now it’s all gone because Meta’s AI flagged something incorrectly. After digging into this, I realized something important: This is happening to thousands of innocent people. Automated moderation systems are making extreme mistakes and permanently banning users without: * Context * Explanation * Transparency * Human verification And people who did nothing wrong are being accused of one of the worst things possible — with no way to defend themselves. It’s terrifying and honestly traumatizing. I have had my Facebook and messenger accounts since 2011 never ever have I had an issue and knowing I follow rules I never worried about it. I made my Instagram last year and suddenly I wake up yesterday morning to such an awful traumatic situation unable to communicate through messenger with my family and friends as well as professional contacts which is costing me money. I have 5, for 5 different things. I have a fanpage, another personal private account with more people, basically my main personal account. Gone. I can’t talk to my classmates at university, all the group chat related to university, gone. A fanpage that has nothing to do w me personally, gone. I rarely ever post or go on any of these accounts, I only post on my spam which is the main account that got suspended. I did absolutely nothing, and everything is just gone. "I was banned under my account Kiara_setse7 for inappropriate child images which my account certainly does not have. I payed for the meta verification on my other account in hopes to speak to a human to help me get my main reinstated. However, they refused to help stating I had to wait for it to be reviewed. My account that had the meta verification was then banned as well. Since I had the subscription I was able to appeal and it was fixed within a day. My main has been banned since July. That is four months. I have 60 days left before it deletes. I have tried downloading my old photos and it won't let me either. Due to linking my Facebook and Instagram my Facebook is also banned and there is no way to appeal that by itself. Meta ai is useless and has caused a huge headache for so many people due to it poorly doing the job that a human should be doing."

I appealed and naturally the appeal was rejected I then got a new account and got meta verified … again no help your almost stuck in a loop where you can’t get out as all they say is you violated the community guidelines when you know you didn’t… the appeals process is broken and the customer service is an injustice you can’t permanently disable accounts and then not show the media/message that caused this. People in the political world have done far worst and have been reinstated. The FB appeal process isn't a fair process, since it's done by AI."

"As a person who been using Instagram for 11 years (3 years as a new account after nearly getting take over by a scum and locks me away from it and are left as a preservation art account), the news on unfair bans including CSE (even to those who are literal minors!) got me concerned and even scared. Seems like the team wants to put more "power" on Meta AI's moderation but falls to the wrong type of people. I've been looking up on any reasons why a ban like that occurs and how to avoid it but there's barely any tips on how to not get into the ban situation that could ban both IG and Facebook forever. As mentioned from the above, I like to think that the people at Meta really want their AI to do serious protection on the app as a way to "protect the kids" by having it to spectate the whole account - every post, every comment, every like, and such. If that is what they're going for, then I believe that's really effortless. My suggestion that the company can just use that as just use the report system with just users voting on a certain user if one came to their account with a ratio percentage (depending on how many followers they have) and see if something really crosses the line than identifying if a person is good or not. If the users has the most votes on a specific reason for a ban, that person should either be suspended for a day or even a banned for something crueller. BUT, it's possible that a suspended user can come back for misunderstanding but they only get ONE CHANCE. The users are moderators and it's THEIR rules. Break the rule by user's viewing, gets banned for good. You see, AI isn't really smart on account inspection for an app full of billions of users and with 40k people according to the Meta's official number, it'll give the real people more trouble than it is without if that's the big reason why they're stressed or grew harsh. While at it, I also like to think the purpose reason why they restore some well-known users' account because they're afraid they don't want to get sue nor wants to address the problem nor want to expect people to protest in front of the building as far as their money concern... Like, you can't just stay online and complain about the problem knowing the fact they won't listen. It needs an in-person protect at the company just to tell them what you need the most! Really feel bad for users who did nothing wrong and are having a fun time for years."

"My account of 10 years, that I made in 2015 got deleted back in September on a false accusation. Appealed and was instantly deleted. Lost all forms of communication with several family and friends, and including messages with some who are now deceased. A new account I made managed to survive for 2 months before being hit with the same ban. This new account didn’t even get used as much as my original besides keeping up with a groupchat with friends. The ai system is a failure when people who actually commit crimes are still allowed on their platform."

Their AI system falsely flagged me, and even after verifying my identity as an adult, I was still banned with no real human review. This broken automated system is harming innocent users. Meta must fix its AI moderation and allow real appeals before destroying someone’s account. Please support this change."

"2 1/2 months ago my Instagram account was disabled due to not following community standards and I did not do anything wrong. I've been waiting for instagram to respond to my appeal and I have emailed multiple times with no response. I cannot get a hold of anyone. "I have received an email of suspension, but I can't login to appeal the vile accusation of child exploitation. I post book reviews, and none of them are inappropriate or for children. I haven't been able to access my account to appeal. I can't find a contact link at all. My account has disappeared, and I'm stuck with an ugly accusation that wasn't even explained. I should be contacted about whatever content was brought into question, especially since I was suspended last night, but I haven't posted in a week. I'm so confused and heartbroken. I think I may have been hacked, but I can't secure my account."

"I had a Facebook account for 15 years and only posted positive and cheerful material. I am really confused as to why, within 1 minute, I was tried and convicted by Facebook of doing something that deserved my entire account to be deleted. I think it might have been my use of a VPN, but every foreigner working in China HAS TO use a VPN to use Facebook and keep in touch with his/her family. Facebook is being truly irresponsible - it makes itself indispensable in peoples' lives, and then makes it impossible for tens of thousands to use, for NO GOOD REASON."

"I got a F notif. On my phone could not see the subject i tapped it opened the App it loaded for less a second said my “Session Had Expired” and logged me out. I login and i’m been “disabled” a d when i tried the “You’re Temporarily Blocked It looks like you were misusing this feature by going too fast. You’ve been temporarily blocked from using it. "My personal page, business page and Instagram accounts have been suspended twice in less than six months. The only explanation was my account did not follow the META terms of use. and that I was attempting to steal personal information from other Facebook users. I am 70 years old and have no clue how to steal a person's personal information. This action by META is unfair and just plain wrong. There is no way offered by META to dispute these charges. The only action I was offered was to file an appeal which in truth is a joke because there is no place to refute the suspension. This has affected me emotionally and financially. META is out of control and needs to be put on notice that their practice of suspending accounts with no proof of user terms violations."

"I have been banned from Marketplace for no reason. I have about 40-50 100% positive feedback transactions on Marketplace. I listed a pocket knife and before doing so I searched on Marketplace and found several similar pocket knives for sale on Marketplace. So I listed mine it was posted for a couple of days and then I received a banned from Marketplace. I did an appeal and instantly the appeal was denied. No warning, no human to speak too about this situation. How is it ok for others to list pocket knives but I can’t? Unreal"

"Ive had my instagram and Facebook accounts since 2020, I'm 19 and the most "vulgar" things I post on there are gym photos. I was banned for CSE and instantly had my appeal rejected. I have all my friends and family on there as well as years of archived footage and memories, and now its all gone due to a broken ai system."

"I've been on Facebook for quite sometime, and decided to give Instagram a go. I was enjoying the app, and suddenly, my account had been suspended. I appealed immediately, and they still ruled against me, and there was nothing I could do about it. This is a complete injustice of the public's ability to express themselves. There should BARE MINIMUM be a phone number for human to human customer support. Alas, they removed their number, and anytime you call it, it simply says, "...We are not taking phone customer support at this time..." Just ridiculous."
