For years I have used Instagram and Facebook to keep in contact with friends and family, make new connections, etc. I have made an appeal but nothing has come about it. I have emailed instagram support with no response. All other options have led to dead ends. This issue needs to be resolved now for all parties that have been affected."

"My acct was permanently disabled for an offence I never committed. I'd had the same acct since 2009. I appealed the decision and my appeal was never reviewed. At the end of the 190 days, my acct was gone forever. I lost photos of my late father and grandmother that I can't get back. All because of this funky, broken AI and no access to any kind of support. Im angry over the whole thing. Not just the pictures and friends I lost contact with, but I'm angry with the accusations they made. That's the thing that bothers me most. I will never use another meta product and, seeing how broken meta is, I think everyone should move away from it."

It's incredibly unfair and disheartening to have yet another faceless enemy coming for the livelihoods of artists in an already difficult time to make a living as a creative person. This hasn't affected me personally, but it's only a matter of time at this point, and I'm signing in solidarity. Human oversight is necessary for any kind of moderation, and especially in the case of appealing erroneous bans."

An appeal was filed by me within 24 hours and then there was no response. There have been attempts to reach out to customer support but there is no one available and available at Meta. My entire social media connections, photos, memories, news, connections to the world of music, as I am a musician, are now from the past, present and future, all in jeopardy of being permanently disabled. The exact cause for this ban is still unknown, but it could be due to a glitchy and disgraceful handling of AI by Meta. I am not the only one who has suffered this emotional distress. Many others around the world are feeling the pain of their accounts being disabled, and it has to stop. I have to take time out of my life due to this nonsense of being disabled. Many more will continue to suffer at the hands of AI if this is not stopped."

"For the past ten years, I’ve struggled with severe depression that left me isolated from friends, family, and social media. Only recently, with treatment and medication, I’ve begun to reconnect with the world and regain the creativity I had abandoned. My parents bought me a 3D printer, which gave me a sense of purpose again and a possible path toward earning an income after years of unemployment. To start a small 3D printing side business, I needed a Facebook account to create a business page. Making that account was difficult for me socially, but I pushed through. I added family and old peers, created the page, and even received my first commission. For the first time in years, I felt like my life was moving forward. Then Facebook suddenly blocked my account for identity verification. They required a video selfie, something extremely uncomfortable for me, but I completed it so I wouldn’t lose the progress I’d made. When I finally regained access, I discovered that my business page and all its content had been removed without explanation. My posts, photos, and the work I had put into launching this small business were gone. There was no clear way to appeal or restore anything. After everything it took for me to start rebuilding my life and confidence, losing the page so abruptly has been devastating."

"I got banned while I was asleep. I had disabled my account to take a break from social media because it was negatively impacting my mental health and I needed time to take care of myself. I had gotten a notification about an email that said my account, both Instagram and Facebook, had been suspended for 180 days for child sexual exploitation, which is a disgusting accusation, while I had not used Instagram for months, and had not touched Facebook ever. I never posted on Facebook, I only had an account to use Messenger, and I only ever posted my digital artwork on Instagram for my small circle of friends to see. I tried to appeal, and in less than 2 minutes I had gotten an email that said my accounts were permanently disabled, with zero way for me to contact support. I looked it up frantically, not wanting to lose my accounts and my only way to contact my friends, and even my family. Every post I saw, had said that I would have to pay for Meta Verified, and I've seen people say they've taken it to court. I've heard few people say they were lucky enough to get their accounts back, but I feel there's no chance I'll get my account back. I refuse to give them more money just to speak to a real human, and I do not have the money to afford a lawyer to take this to court, if I ever am to consider that option. So I thought to use a different account. When I did, that one had also immediately gotten suspended for account integrity. I have yet to appeal that account, but I already know that they will immediately permanently suspend that account as well. It's made me realize how incompetent Meta is, and that I should not waste my time or money to try to get my account back. The fact that I have to pay for anything at all to get support from anything but AI is sickening. Meta needs to be held accountable for their mistakes, indecency, and incompetence on their part, and to not use AI for their moderation, because if they had actual people in their moderation system, the accounts of many innocent people would not be or have been suspended for zero reason and with zero proof, and ban them permanently when they try to appeal. AI doesn't stand for "Artificial Intelligence" for no reason. It's technology, it's code, it'll make huge mistakes like this and even worse, and the fact that Meta isn't, nor hasn't taken accountability for this already? It's sickening. Meta needs to do better. I'm sick of this. And many other people are too."

"I’m a senior at River City High School. I came back from a friendsgiving on Sunday November 22nd at midnight to see that my instagram account got banned for violating “Community Standards on child sexual exploitation, abuse and nudity.” That is such a ridiculous statement that I thought would get resolved easily by just checking my account and messages. They said, quote “It usually takes us just over a day to review your information. Check back here.” It has been 6 days and counting since I appealed the ban, and there has been no response and when I log into the account, an error occurs. On top of this misdoing, they banned my spam account and my account for my high school Asian American Pacific Islander club, for no reason, violating “account integrity”. As vice president of AAPI, I have no source to contact my friends or inform my classmates about future meetings. I can’t even make a new account to replace my man or my aapi one. Please meta do better."

"I've been a Facebook user since 2008 and Instagram since 2011. My accounts were disabled for CSEA when all I use it for is family updates, and recently made my accounts private and removed unknown followers. It also disabled a work account I was logged into and is making it follow it's own appeal process. I never realized how dependent I was on Meta to stay connected to my friends and family, to document and recall my personal memories, and to be able to stay connected to the world. Unfortunately, it's a powerful tool being controlled by careless people."

I severed ties with an old, unused email that we thought allowed someone access to my account. I ALSO changed my password. I then received notice of restrictions placed on my account. But my page remained active. Then, a few hours later, I was notified again that I may have been hacked, and changed my password for a second time. And I received new restrictions on my account. But my page was still active. However, the next day, after checking on a group I administrate, I took a break, only to try to look at my page a few hours later and found a notice that my account was disabled and I requested a review. And now the waiting begins. Two notices. Two different sets of restrictions. Two different dates given for when the restrictions end. Three password changes. And then, a completely disabled account. It's like dealing with a communist government."

"My account got hacked. Someone accessed my account without my knowledge, uploaded a fake ID, and it flagged me as underage. The appeal was automatically denied as it only relied on this phony ID. I lost my business and my personal page I had since Facebook's creation. I was able to find out about the fake ID and the intruders by searching into the "Downloadable Data". I guess Meta's AI doesn't check much..."

"Meta is thinking it has power over the whole world. They think that being buddies with the president they can do whatever. I have reported disgusting and horrible posts with pictures and it takes one human look of the eye to say no this needs to be taken down but all their reviews are done buy AI or program algorithms that I think are set up to not take down anything as their personal view. If they looked at the reports with a human eye I am pretty sure 85% of reported posts would be taken down ASAP. Kijiji when they review reports it is done by a human being. It's different I know but I recently paid the poster money just so I could get the budgie out of neglectful horrible situation I reported it to kiji right away with pictures of the condition of the cage no perch no good and there pet care expert team became very interested and decided an investigation was warranted. That doesn't happen if Facebook because they use AI or algorithms that has to stop."

There were no explanation just an automatic suspension. Meta does not have a “real” person you can talk to get this fixed or review unless you pay to be Meta verified. It’s the only way our family talks to my 98 year old grandmother via Facebook messenger. "I am writing this statement to explain that my Instagram account was wrongfully and permanently banned, along with all of my connected Meta accounts. I have been an active user of Facebook since 2009 and Instagram since 2011. Over more than a decade, I have always used my accounts responsibly and have never violated any community standards. Instagram is one of my main social media platforms—it’s where I stay in touch with my family, my friends, and my community. About one month ago, on a completely random Sunday, my account was suddenly disabled without warning. The system flagged me and permanently banned my Instagram account, and because everything is linked through Meta, it affected my Facebook and Messenger as well. I was extremely frustrated and confused, especially since I rely on these platforms every day. To make things worse, I cannot contact customer service, and most of the support tools either redirect me or give automated answers that don’t apply to my case. I also cannot create a new account—Meta’s AI instantly blocks it, even though I have not broken any rules. I am not located in the United States, which makes accessing support even harder. After over a decade of using these platforms, being banned without cause, explanation, or human review feels incredibly unfair. I simply want my accounts restored and the chance to continue using the platforms I’ve trusted for so many years."

"Sooo... California has a "town square" law. It's historically been applied to shopping centers. Social media could very well be interpreted as the modern equivalent of the town square as well - regardless of being private businesses. Perhaps this could be used to get justice from Meta? Summary: California "town square" law stems from the landmark Pruneyard Shopping Center v. Robins case, which declared that large shopping centers, due to their public function, are akin to traditional public forums, granting free speech rights under the California Constitution, even on private property, though owners can impose reasonable "time, place, and manner" restrictions. While public squares and parks have strong First Amendment protections for speech and assembly, California law extends these to large commercial centers, but not necessarily to smaller businesses or areas with limited public access, with specific codes (like Gov. Code § 50533) also defining rules for public squares. We need to get some lawyers involved."

"My account was disabled after 15 years of using it. In my case i send a Link to help somebody to find some spare parts so its neither my business or i have any benefit from it i would onky help somebody with my knowledge and its really scary of the futures when AI controlls all of your doings this was only a social media account but think this happen to your bank ,insurance etcaccounts."

"With the rise of AI replacing meta has chosen to fire all of their employees that monitor certain apps. This is a huge mistake because there are already reports of AI making huge mistakes that seem to be irreversible. These mistakes include Banning accounts for no apparent reason, Banning accounts just because they share an IP address with an account, and with no human to contact about these issues the AI will refuse to help you because it has already deemed your account as breaking Terms of Service ."

"My instagram account of several years got wrongfully banned because of CSE. I don’t ever post, and I am not involved in such disgusting acts. I appealed it and sent a video selfie and even after days, nothing has changed. I can’t log into my account or my alt account, and I can’t even find an option to ask someone from Meta to fix my problem. They do not have support for such issues, I don’t know how to get my accounts back. I’m so frustrated and upset they would even accuse me of such a thing and put me through so much trouble."

"My account was hacked in July of this year and the person who hacked it changed my phone and email. After about a month they finally took my old fb down after me and friends and family all reported it just to find out I have 180 days to appeal or it's permanently disabled. I provided all my info and screenshots of me being the original owner by paid meta verified support to get told nope sorry we are still not giving you your account back even though I gave them every single thing asked to provide it's really me. I have 15 plus years of memories going to be gone once the 180 days is up. Its not right."

"As a teenager Instagram is one of my ways to document and share memories and make new friends. I’ve always had an instagram account and I feel that everyone should it’s a good app ! Recently my account(s) have been disabled and suspended continuously for no absolute reason and my appeals are never approved. I’ve tried everything and my whole life is basically on there everything I see on a basis I even have buisness waiting to partner with me but because of this I’ve just lost everything. This is an unacceptable and very unprofessional situation that needs to be addressed."
